Your On-Page SEO is Vital for Success!

I just wanted to share with website owners something that I have learned in the last few years about ranking on page 1 of Google.

The job starts with Keyword Research and On-Page SEO, so before you purchase any services and expect great results you need to first work on your website!

I started working online just over 4 years ago and I didn't even do any keyword research. I found SeoClerks and thought hey this is it! Now I will be found online!

Nope I wasn't and I lost faith in SEO experts.

I have now spent the last 4 years learning about keyword research, how to write my content, how to share my content, how to include videos.... so many awesome things.

Now I can write content that ranks within minutes and only then do I come here and juice it up.

How you research your content and keywords counts big time and how you write your content too!

Don't expect SEO experts to be able to work magic with your content unless your content is great.

I often see people who want to rank for something in particular only to find that they don't even have those words on their site! If it doesn't exist, you can't rank for it! Well you can but it will take a lot more work. Having the content and those actual words on your site is only half the battle. But it's what makes up good on-page SEO when you have good quality content that is based on and around those keywords. It makes it much easier to actually rank for them when they already actually exist on your site! It's not just about building backlinks with those words in the anchor text although that also plays a large part in where you are actually ranking for those keywords as invariably, the site that have the most backlinks with those keywords in the anchor text will be the ones that rank top for them. You can still rank for keywords if you have the right amount of backlinks with those keywords in the anchor text but not as well as actually having those words on your site. Whether it's just in the title, on the page itself or even in the meta data information. But much easier if it's in all 3 plus as the anchor text in your backlinks too.

You are absolutely right Lynne. Many of buyers come here to hire SEO expert to boost their SERP without even working on On-Page SEO and expecting to rank high and fast. If the SEO seller offer to do on-page and off-page SEO then it sound too expensive, but doing one without another can't bring really good results if website owner did not prepare his contents good enough. So... Magic wand is only on fairy tales and we don't have them in real life Your On-Page SEO is Vital for Success! Hope that more bloggers will learn how to prepare their blog contents before they start promoting them off-site, so it can bring better results, specially after SEO and SMM experts do their parts.

Hi anwebservices you said exceedingly well. I completely agree with you. Most of the website owner, who specially do not have idea on SEO, they damn care on on-page SEO. just expecting off-page SEO work and wanting search result as high as possible. And hiring people to purchase bulk backlink. And it is 100% true that, if any website owner want to get search result by SEO work, he has to SEO plan for his website for long. Both on-page and off-page SEO work can make good result on search engine. Yes I agree with your point of expensive. But, for getting good business, investment should big part.

I totally agree, I had some feedback from SEO freelancers to do on-page SEO when I first started and I believed it was way expensive, but I have learned better now. I had no idea what went into it, now I do know and that is why I have shared this post. Hopefully other web owners will better understand Your On-Page SEO is Vital for Success!

So many times have I talked with clients and told them they need good content in order for my off page optimization to be fully affective. I usually write up the content and post it to their pages myself, but you get those few clients who think their files are made of gold and they won't let you in. I understand being protective over their files, so I'll send them all the articles I wrote or had someone write. These articles are optimized perfectly for specific keywords and I know they'll get ranked in time. The only downside is that the owner of the website sometimes doesn't want to post the articles because it's "Not what they like" ugh. I take hours to write this stuff up and they don't even post it to their website. I tell them they don't have to link their homepage to it or advertise any of the new pages, but they don't care. This is the exact moment when I know I won't have this client for a long time because they don't listen. They're pretty much a stubborn child who has a silver spoon shoved up their A.... I'll stop there Your On-Page SEO is Vital for Success!

Anyways, I agree that you need quality content in order to do anything. Posting garbage will not gain you anything in the long run and that's not what we all are after. We want to be on top getting the traffic and sales, and posting good quality content is one of the first things we all need to focus on when trying to rank Your On-Page SEO is Vital for Success!

Razzy I am sure that has driven you bonkers!

That is why I shared this post. When I first started working online I honestly thought you paid someone to create a website and then you were like well on Google right? Someone looked for you and there you were.

It took me months to even realize that I had to do something to be ranked and then I thought once you were "ranked" well you were like ranked right? I didn't realize that you rank for specific keywords.

Once I found this out I started trying to get myself ranked for "online baby store" ... yes you can all laugh now.

Do I need to admit that I didn't get ranked for that keyword?

It has been a long journey of learning for me, and I think a lot of web masters just don't understand what goes into ranking and that is the reason I posted this discussion.

Hi Lynne thanks for your question regarding ON-page SEO issue. I may replied to another CD regarding this matter. I should say, on-page SEO is the main part of search engine ranking. But unfortunately many website owner does not know how to work for on-page SEO. Even you do not see, buyer does not hire any expert specially for on-page SEO change. And they prefer only of-page SEO service as backlink. But, for getting search result on-page and off-page SEO need to good combination. If you only get bulk backlink without keyword or other on-page planning, I am sure nobody will get search ranking.

Very well said Lynne. The starting point for success should always be the content. We often hear the saying 'content is king' and it is indeed. Without high quality content you cannot do anything. So you need to start with your content, make sure you have a great idea/topic, back it up with research, and see that it is written in a way that includes keywords wisely. Then you can then move on to off site SEO and hope for better results. I also suggest creating content that is in demand, such as content which will address doubts and common queries people have.

Good content is imperative for the SEO capability of the website. Whenever I would read a discussion that focuses on keywords, I get a feeling that the website owner wants to escape the chore of writing contents because he thinks that stuffing the website with keywords will do the trick. The question in my mind is always this – what is a website without fresh content? I have no statistics to prove but my take on SEO is that good contents will always get your website a good ranking, much better ranking than what good keywords can give you.
