    Are you still using Portable Softwares?

    Personally I’ve used them many times in the past, they are same thing with normal softwares , the interesting part about portable softwares is because you can run them to any computer without installing before , as we do with normal softwares. Also, any normal software can be converted into a portable software.

    Are you still using them?

    Hi procoder thanks for your question. I have been using computer more than 17 years and I used several this type of softwares when I used computer in first few years. And that time I got many Portable Software's though I cannot remember what was those. But still I guessing in that time I very much played game which I copied from my cousin and I used without installing them. I means portable software games. If I am not wrong, that may virtual cup 1 or 2 and I had some of SEGA games all of portable game software. Besides, I used few music software which also run on my computer without installation.

    I keep a bunch of portable software around in case of emergency, but don't use it on a regular basis. I definitely prefer portable software, and would like to see more developers transition to it.

    not sure how to make some portable software but i am using few of them and i personally would probably turn them all in portable, it's easy to move them to another computer and use right away, so i like them

    Yeah i like them too. Also, if you want to create portable softwares search for "portable apps creator" i haven't used it for a long time , but i think is still there.

    The fact that you can easily move them from one computer to another is very advantageous. No installations are required, as you simply copy the program folder whcih will contain all the settings in it. So it is simpler and faster. It is also easier both to backup as well as recover when needed. I did use portable software programs a number of times and I think that they are still applicable.

    My husband is using Music Sculptor. It is a short program that can create notes for a musical accompaniment. There is a music sheet with a choice of instruments where you create the notes. It is very simple and easy to use musical software that runs on any computer. Although there is an installer, it is not like any installer that uses the system because it is a stand-alone program.
