Will you switch from Evernote now that they only allow basic on two devices?

I've used Evernote for years now. I've never had a premium plan and always used the basic edition on all of my devices. Laptop, Desktop, Phone, iPad, etc. I have it everywhere and I really liked it. Easy to use and I have thousands of notes now.

Unfortunately, I just received an email from Evernote stating they were limiting the basic edition to two devices in 30 days. They are also increasing the price of the premium editions. You can read about it here.

I honestly think it is a terrible idea and that they will lose more users than obtain new premium memberships. The first thing I did when I read the email was find an alternative. I came across OneNote by Microsoft which is pretty amazing! I actually like it better than Evernote.

Will you stay with Evernote now that you are limited to two devices? If not, what will you use as an alternative?

That's a shame. Another example of a corporation putting profits before people! Sure a lot of people are going to stop using Evernote now and they know this. But they are probably relying on all those extra premium subscriptions to make up, or more than make up, for the loss.

I prefer Facebook Notes anyway. It was upgraded last year and has a few more features and is nicer to use. Plus you can do all the same things with it that you can do with Evernote anyway pretty much. So, Facebook Notes are the next best alternative?

I've never heard of Evernote before, or Facebook notes... or OneNote. I am learning about so many new things here in the last few days which has been very helpful.
I'll check out the alternatives to Evernote that have been suggested.

On the topic on hand I do think when companies cut down what they offer on the free accounts and increase the paid membership fees it is bad. It makes me think of the way all the food gets packaged smaller and smaller all the time yet the prices go up and up. When I was in school (many moons ago) a big packet of crisps would be plenty for me, my mom and my two sisters to pig out on.... now my toddler can scoff a "big" packet of crisps easily within minutes. This is the way the world is going now. Less value for more money.

Evernote is great for taking notes and organizing information, but as you said since they are going to implement this considerable change it is surely going to effect users negatively, and the result will probably be many users who switch to other apps which do not offer such a restriction. Just 2 devices is very limited considering that most people use a smartphone, a tablet, and sometimes more than one computer. As suggested by mike, Facebook Notes could be a very good alternative to Evernote. OneNote is also quite good as a note taking app and I use it and am happy with it.
