If you had 5 minutes with a freelancing millionaire, what would you ask them?
I've been thinking of this several times during my online career and for the first couple of times, I came up with one question only.. What's the biggest mistake you ever made?
But, you know what? .. I wouldn't ask them that question., Because that's irrelevant. Everyone makes mistakes. That's not the important part.
I would ask them this question:

Nothing regarding freelancing, because i would probably research and study it before meeting. 5 minutes is too short for so many things we could have to ask...

Haha, what?! A coffee and nothing more than that?!
I do agree about 5 minutes being to little time to get answers for all your questions you might have, but at least, you'll get those 5 minutes. It's 5 more minutes than most others have ever got. Wouldn't it be better to make those 5 minutes count and make sure you'd get something out of it instead of drinking coffee? :D

That's very true Lynn. After all, it was the mindset they had at the beginning that got there where they are today. A sheer dogged determination to succeed. Something must have inspired them to keep on, keeping on. I guess that would form my question actually "[b]What inspired you from the start[/b]" and "[b]what kept you, keeping on[/b]". Although the answer to that seems pretty obvious in that it would have been the money. I mean, why else do people do freelancing? :)

I would ask, [b]what inspired you to get into freelancing from the start?[/b] Although that seems a bit of a rhetorical question and is rather obvious. I mean why does anyone do freelancing in the first place? For the money of course! But I could ask more than one question in 5 minutes provided their answer didn't take longer than 5 minutes. I think the second question I'd ask them is "[b]What would you say to a freelancer first starting out in freelancing today?[/b]" I would hope from that question they would be able to tell me something that would inspire and motivate me to carry on. Not that I'd need inspiration and motivation, but I'd imagine they would tell me something that would help me along my journey as well. I think my next question would be "[b]do you still do freelancing now?[/b]". Because as a millionaire, you don't really have to any more, I mean, you can just live off your interest. And finally, I'd ask "[b]what one thing about the freelancing industry would you change if you could?[/b]". And that's an answer I'd be very interested in knowing their answer for! :)

I think I would also him what is the main reason you feel you managed to do so well? It is not about a secret I believe, or just getting lucky. It takes time to become successful and to gain so much. And I believe he too would have spent a considerable amount of time trying this and that, and gaining experience, until finally he managed to do really well. Some tips and suggestions to improve would obviously be helpful, and maybe he could even have some sort of job/post to offer me which could help me do better who knows?! :)

I think I would ask them for their credit and debit cards and what their pin numbers were ;)
But really, I would ask
How did you start?
I would want to know how they started because I want to know if they were a rags to riches story, if they had an investor help out, or if their family was wealthy and he didn't have to look for start up funding.
What was your best choice?
I'd ask this because it's always good to know what a person did right in order to push them to where they are now. A successful person won't always answer what their main money method is, but they might be willing to let you know what their best choice was and you could build off of that ;)
Do you think I should change anything?
I'd ask them this because if they're already a millionaire, they probably know what I should change with my business plan. Knowing my own flaws is the easiest way to fix them, but you can't always see your own flaws so it's good to hear it from an outside source.
What is the best way to increase my profits or ROI?
This is the main question that would be on my mind. Increasing my investment is the best way to become successful because you can't just put $10 and break even because you'll never be successful. Now putting in $10 and pulling out $100 is much more appealing to me
