    What is considered viral for Youtube?

    I posted a question recently asking what makes a Youtube video go viral. Now what I am wondering is when exactly is a Youtube video considered a viral video?

    Is it a specific amount of views that needs to be gained? Is there a time frame? Is there like a specific definition?

    Yes it is that same video... which is really exciting. So yes it is increasing daily. I always push myself and try make sure I do better all the time. This is one of my great achievements What is considered viral for Youtube?

    I think that true viralness can be when it's gone truly viral on a global scale. But it can also be on a much smaller scale too. That's the thing with viralness it can be measured by whether it's gone global or not. Because going viral means success at some point but success can be measured by how much success you see. So if your video is getting viewed a lot by your inner circles sharing it with their inner circles and so on you can get a bunch of views for a while but this can then fizzle out after a while. Where as some videos can go viral by getting viewed many times for a long time as it's getting watched over and over again by many people who really like it all around the world and are still sharing it more and more so more and more are viewing it and doing the same and you see that trend hang around for a while for a really good video that people like. However eventually most videos, even the most popular videos fizzle out after a while unless its one of those ones like Charley bit my finger one or one of those other top 10 most viral videos of all time! What is considered viral for Youtube?


    So you can measure how viral your video has gone by how many views it's get, what countries are viewing it, what sites are putting it on there site and talking about etc and how much you're monetizing it too. I'm just saying, it can be viral amongst your friends and their friends, viral amongst a certain type of people on social media sites and forums etc to a certain group of people. Or it can go viral on a global scale like these top most viral videos have done. That's when you can truly say they are very viral videos!

    Thanks Mike. That makes sense.

    I guess my nearly 30 000 views is only viral to me then? Back to the drawing board to make use of all those tips everyone gave me in my previous question about what make a Youtube video go viral!

    Just because the video has thirty thousand views, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't get viral. There has been videos that were published years ago and just got viral status years after it was posted. It's very interesting when this occurs because the "viralness" of the video came out of no where, and it's hard to track how it got viral.

    This is a buzz word that we hear so often, and yet there is no specific answer to a certain extent. According to Kevin Nalty "A few years ago, a video could be considered 'viral' if it hit a million views", but as of 2011, it is considered to have gone viral only "if it gets more than 5 million views in a 3–7 day period" .

    However even if you would love to have one of your videos go viral, it is best to focus on what you are showing in a video and if it is going to hit people in their hearts and memory.

    OK so I have quite a way to go still to go viral! Oh dear, back to the drawing board again What is considered viral for Youtube?

    I got some really great tips on another question I asked so I will be implementing some of those with my next videos. I am determined to one day have a proper viral video!

    30,000 views?! Nice!

    It was just a few days ago it had reached 12,000 views, or is it another video you're talking about? In case it's the same, you're truly doing something right! What is considered viral for Youtube?

    What I personally believe, is that a video going viral is when your views are being skyrocket day by day. You should compete with yourself and not with others. If you get 100 new views today, then you'll want 200 new views tomorrow and double the amount of views for each day that pass.

    I think if your video has a thousand views and is getting more views by leaps and bounds every day then you have a viral video. Even if the new views every day is just by the hundreds, that’s good enough. I define a video going viral when it is shared by viewers, the reason why the views keep on coming because it is shared. However, the total number of views should reach maybe 100,000 before it can be considered a bona-fide viral video. Just my thoughts.

    In my opinion your video should hit a million legit views in a week along with a lot of shares, comments and mentions. Fake and Bought views are not included because you can buy a million views and your video won't even be considered a bit viral.
