Is there one event or situation that might cause you to quit your freelancing work? For instance, let's say that you got horribly scammed by a buyer who would not pay, would that be enough to make you want to quit? Would time limitations cause you to quit freelancing?

Oh i was not very active with freelancing at that time, i choose only jobs well paid and do it after work as i can. It was good fun to have own coffee shop with regular clientele and i was enjoying it, but year after year there is more and more regulations which push you to spend more money on something that you not selling so i decided to sell the business. But it was one good experience with some good memories to have :)

Winning the lottery would do it! Anything around £1,000,000 would be enough to make me quit. I'd just live off the interest. Or even something smaller. But since that is not very likely, if I started some sort of business or website that took off and made me the same sort of money it would probably be enough to put an end to me life as a freelancer. Or it might not, I may still do it but only for really prestigious clients or something. And just in my spare time for the rewarding factor of it. But giving it up for good could mean a lot of money that I could loose out on. Even though if I'd won the lottery or had a business that was bringing in a substantially large amount each month/year. I'd still probably go after that extra money. Call me greedy but you can never have enough as you never know what's around the corner!
Getting horribly scammed wouldn't put me off forever. It might make me think about it and probably effect me personally for a while. But I wouldn't let it defeat me else they would have doubly won then? And I know that there are also many many genuine people out there as well. So I would probably just end up sucking it up, putting it down as a loss and carrying on trying to get genuine clients to work for.
Time constraints would be a big factor though as everything comes down to time. If you don't have the time to do your freelance work due to other things in your life taking up your time whether it be your family, your new family or other work you have to do. Then it makes it harder to put in the hours that are needed as a freelancer to get peoples work done. So if I didn't have the time to do it that would make me not do it as some things in life are just much more important! :)

That's great MrA! Yes there is much method in the madness. Sometimes all it can seem like is just pure madness. But if you're determined and try try again, you can turn it around which you have done. That's the sort of attitude I take on things sometimes like if it doesn't work as expected, I'll try again, and again and again until I've made doing it worth doing or managed to see some success from it because I don't like to be defeated, I was born to succeed. Failure is a part of winning though sometimes. Because without failure there can be no learning sometimes. It's learning why you failed and then not making the same mistake again that counts though isn't it!? :)

I don't see myself ever stop working online. Now if I won the lottery I'd definitely stop offering services to clients and start making a super awesome website that I like and others will too. I'd make money from ad revenue over time, it would probably be a huge loss for the first 10 years but eventually it would work out, or I'd sell it lol :D
I've been scammed before, and it really sucks, but it hasn't stopped me from working online as a freelancer. If you can't get over a hurdle, you should never have gotten in the race in the first place ;)
Learn from you mistakes and look back at them as something you aren't going to do again in the future :D
