As you're probably aware of by now animated explainer videos have exploded onto our screens in the last year or so and can be extremely effective for your business. Explainer videos are only usually a minute or so long and present the viewer with a problem they may have and then provide a solution to it in that video. And business's that use explainer videos on their website and and social media sites in promotional or marketing campaigns see amazing results from them. So since these are relatively cheap to purchase or fairly easy to make yourself online thanks to the technology increasing, it's something that's worth having a crack at!
So there are a few ways to get explainer videos made. Either purchase a service that does it or learn to make your own using some video editing software or make one online using one of the best free online explainer video sites. Yes there are sites that you can create videos online for free or pay a little extra for it be in HD format or for some extra images etc but there are also sites that are dedicated to helping you create a quick but professional explainer video too.
Some of these sites are free but come with some limitations like branding or time limit and some of them provide ways to upgrade the video or add more time or images etc to it for a fee. You can make a basic free one using these sites but if you want to have a full HD video with a lot of scenes and images and text etc in it you may have to pay a little extra for that privilege. On average, you don't want to spend any more than $50 for a decent explainer video and you can even get them for cheaper than this from some freelancer on SEOClerks.
Video production costs aside, if you have enough funding then you can get a very high quality professional and personalized explainer video made for you or even yourself online if your determined. Most of the best explainer video creation sites are very easy and simple to use to fully edit your video according to your preferences.
The only thing is that these videos you make yourself might not have the same professional touch to them that a true professional video creation specialist might be able to do. 4 Tips to Creating Your Explainer Own Video
Those sites help you do a great job with their clever scene editors but I've put together 4 tips that go over some of the most important things to know when creating your own.
Tip #1: Write the script first.
A good script is critical as it's the core message put across in the video and a good script can make or break the video just like it can a good or bad movie. You should think about your script in blocks or sections. In the first section it want's to introduce your character and explain his problem. Then in the next section provide a solution and so on until you have your full script ready. Your script should explain what the video is about, what it does and how it works but in as simple terms as possible. Make sure it's proof read and has no spelling and grammar mistakes as well of course!
Here's some bullet points to consider when writing your script.

My friends video did come out pretty well so he was happy, but I just can't see myself paying that much for a 3 minute video. He literally paid $1,166 per minute which is wayyyyyyy too much in my book.

Well, I know that some companies do pay big dollar for professional video production. But that usually involves more than one video and rather a video campaign where they'll make a series of videos for the company. But certainly $3500 for one video does seem like extreme extortion. Because these days, there is no reason that an animated web video needs to cost that much. They can be made much cheaper than that even if you use one of these online animation video sites and pay for many premium extras in the video or you use your own software.
I mean, you can DEFINITELY hire a professional freelancer on here to make one for less than that. But while it sounds like he paid too much or hired the wrong people for the job, that doesn't mean he was going to get a sub par video though so as long as he's happy with it and he got a decent video out of it that is what's all important rather than the price sometimes because it's true what they say, you can't put an accurate price on quality and it's better sometimes to overpay and know that you'll definitely going to get a better video rather than buy one on a shoe-string budget and get something that isn't very well made and just well, sucks.
But these days, even people on a shoe string budget can get a professional explainer video made for them and for a video that is fairly basic and simple and doesn't have that many scenes or a long script one should expect to pay between $20-$50. Up to $100 for a really good video with more scenes, script etc. I definitely think he paid to much though. That's the sort of price you pay for a 20 second advert on prime time TV with REAL actors in it. For that he could have got like 300 videos made for him of the same sort of quality, length but as long as he's happy with it and it goes on to earn him that money back in the long run, as that is the plan from the start!
And no problem yes! The great thing about videos is they're so damned popular for starters. But animated explainer videos more than any really because they really help you to more reveal a problem and then of course provide a solution for it in an entertaining way.
I said I was going to be focusing more on video creation and production at the start of 2016 and I meant it! I really want to hone my skills in this area and be able to knock out professional and entertaining animated explainer videos for my own purposes and other people too within minutes. I'm not sure yet though to be honest that these free online animated explainer video creation sites will be able to provide that with no matter how good I get at using them. Eventually, the premiums you need to make it a truly professional video can really add up and you can't rely on them.
So it might be better finding some software that I can do this in like Adobe After Effects or Camtasia or something. Yes that's the one thing about biteable and sites like it in that if you want to add your own images, sound etc you have to pay the premium price for it or subscribe to them which is a bit overkill when all you want is one video. And you're right you can create a character that looks according to your needs business looking or hip looking etc but it means having to create those characters yourself and maybe animate them and the video itself and synch the audio with the video so that it's synched and said at the right time etc according to the script. You can put together a basic one quite easily using their own characters and change the words around and that but if you want it to be really unique you will probably have to pay for that before you can download it and it can get quite pricey too. That's why I'm thinking perhaps it would be better to do them yourself in some [b]dedicated animation explainer video creation software[/b] if you're looking to knock these out on a regular basis for yourself or for clients. :)
