I meditate every day and it helps me to stay centered and focused. And, I always feel very emotionally balanced. Maybe this is similar to praying.

Hi Brownie, I don't think I pray to help relieve stress, I pray because I feel the need to talk with God and tell him my problems, successes and my wishes. I pray every night, and when I go to church! Sometimes I even pray before I eat or when I feel the need!

That's exactly the way I see it. I do it because I feel the need to. Got some guidance and help from church through my life, and I've been in pretty rough moments too, and the only thing that brings me peace is to know that I can "talk" to God. I haven't seen the old man, but I can feel him, and have got his help all the time.

I know God is really important in my life which is the reason that I don't joke with praying especially when the going gets tough for me. I ensure that I pray so as to stay relevant in life.

This is a nice topic for me because I am a religious person. That may be because I had studied in a Catholic school and in college, I was in the oldest Catholic university in our country. I actually pray when I am not doing anything like when I am traveling especially when I am not driving. Of course, I also pray as I wake up and the ending of my day is also a prayer. I agree that praying somehow helps in the relief of stress.
