    Why does my mouse stop working suddenly?

    Several times today, my mouse has stopped working suddenly. I have a laser optical mouse and sometimes the red light will just go out. I don't want to have to buy a new mouse so soon. Why does my mouse stop working suddenly?

    Did you update your mouse drivers? Or, maybe the cord to the mouse is broken, if it's not wireless.

    I also have an optical mouse and when that happened to me the first time, I changed the battery and it was working again. When I bought a wireless keyboard, it has a free wireless mouse which I also installed to replace the wired optical mouse. But the wireless sometimes stops with no reason and my suspicion is the interference in the signal because it is wireless. I am not using that wireless mouse anymore.
