    I have very bad experience with VPS I have tried a few but they dont deliver as advertised(speed, uptime etc)

    you need to know which type of VPS environment you will run... Windows or Linux... Linux is a different ballgame than Windows, but certainly has its perks... Regardless of wants and comfort levels, if your site is running on ASP or ASP.net, you will need to use a Windows environment..

    yes there are free / paid vps. If you go for long term work select a vps atleast for 6month to 1 year..

    Then regarding the other things.
    Speed of your vps and itz memory will tell you what you can do with that
