How do you transfer ownership of a domain to another person?

Let's say that you sell one of your domain names to someone else. How would you go about transferring ownership of the domain to that other person?

Here is what I do.
I ask the buyer to set up an account on the domain registrar where my domain is actually registered. Once payment is received, I will push the domain to his account. The transfer takes in less than one minute. If the new buyer wants to transfer to another registrar he will have to do on his own, which might take up to one week.

I think it about the buyer having an account with the registrar of the domain that the domain name was bought and the initial owner of the name transferring it to the new buyer at that domain site.It easy that way.So that the new buyer becomes the owner of the domin name not the initial buyer.
