    Mismatched domain names

    It bothers me when I go to a website where the domain name is a mismatch for the site. As if the person who bought the domain didn't even bother to match the theme or content of the site to the domain name. This just seems to be a waste of money for domain name and possibly misleading for the site visitor. Why is this done?

    Maybe the site was once named to match the domain but over time they changed the name due to new ownership. You can never tell why sites do this.
