    A subdomain is good for your blog. However, the SEO benefit is better if you place the blog on a subfolder.

    You can use a subdomain as a blog or forum for your website. If your website has a broad topic, you can use sub domain to publish on niche topics. For example, if your main domain is on adventure sports, you can have a subdomain for rafting, kayaking, wind surfing etc.
