When I started my chat forum, most of the names I wanted or tried were already taken. And, literally nothing else appealed to me. So to get the domain name I wanted, I had to add a short tag to the end BB (stands for bulletin board, this was a popular thing to add to forum domains back then, etc). Another one of my favorite general chat forums used the BB on their own domain name so it just made sense. And, it let me use the name I wanted. The name is memorable and unique enough and includes the keyword i really wanted to target as well as sounding casual enough for the theme of the forum.
