What is the average age of the Facebook user?

Can you tell me the average age of the Facebook user? Does this site appeal more to teens and kids or to moms and dads and anyone who is older?

According to one source, the average age of the Facebook user is 40.5 years old in the United States. Though in some places, the average age is much lower. Though it seems that Facebook is not really popular with the teen crowd as Myspace was.

No matter what statistics tell us, it is hard to determine the average age of a Facebook user as a result of the fact that many are using it everyday and new members are joining on a daily basis as well.

I don’t have an official source for this and I am basing my estimate on the friends that I have. The number is 30 years old, I guess, because the senior bracket has the lowest number and the younger bracket of ages 21 and below has the biggest number. But my observation says that Facebook users are getting younger every day.
