I have heard of some Facebook users who will create a profile based on a ficticious character and then add friends who show interest in a specific niche or product type. For instance, a person might create a girl gamer Facebook profile and then add other gamers interested in playing Xbox games. This is only an example and you might think of others. Anyone added to the friends list would be a gamer and not a real friend. And, the person with the fake profile could then post links to their own gaming related site/blog/forum and ask friends on the friend list to like their favorite Facebook page. Have you used this idea?

That is not really worth it considering facebooks recent changes. Your account could easily be flagged as fake, and get deleted. SO its not really worth. What you can do is create a facebook page for that fictional character, and get likes. (Be that a tv show character, movie or game) and then you can use it to promote stuff that is similar to that niche.
