    What if you tried to login to your Facebook account and could not? How would you recover your account? Does it mean you have been hacked or simply banned by Facebook from getting on the account?

    This actually happened to me, as someone logged into my account from the city where I used to live. Hopefully they didn't take anything important. To be safe, I started a new Facebook account.

    That is a great idea! I mean once you enable mobile verification for every login, you can be assure of your account been safe from hackers What if you got locked out of your Facebook account?

    If you've been banned, Facebook always notifies the person, but on the issue of being hacked, I don't know about that. If it is a case of forgetting your password, your email/phone number can assist in resetting it for you.

    A close friend had abandoned an old Facebook account and created a new one. After many years, he visited his old Facebook account and was surprised that it was being used by another person. The email address is still the same though. But when he changed the password and logged in, he was asked by Facebook to prove his identity by identifying the friends which are friends of the hacker. Until now that account is still not reclaimed.
