    Does Facebook have the right to steal your posts/content?

    Since Facebook is a publicly traded company, anything you post on your wall (publicly) can be used by others, including art work if you don't explicitly state that others are prohibited from using your photos/art. Just wondering if Facebook can arbitrarily steal your posts/photos/content for your own use, even if you tell them not to.

    Yes in facebook your each and every activity is tracked today. So if someone is thinking he/she is secure in facebook and his information is private then its not true.

    I think it is already out in the open that the data in Facebook is susceptible to hacking aside from the Facebook admin that can get and make use of the data although they wouldn’t admit it. My question is what if Facebook would admit that what we post can be used by Facebook for their purposes would you quit using Facebook? My guess is I don’t think so because Facebook is free and easy that you will continue using it.

    I don't think we can call it stealing but things which is there on their site belongs to them, we don't have a say in it. Sad but true.

    facebook is able to track each & every post, wherever it is posted from. But, we should not support the stealing of posts, as it may include some personal details or some personal contents, posted to someone special.

    I don't know if thy have to steal it per se since you voluntarily post the content on their platform. It's like creating a public profile with all your data and then complaining that your privacy is invaded...

    If you're an artist or writer and post photos/content on Facebook and it's taken by them for their own use, then they are stealing your (possibly) copyrighted material. And, yes there would be legal consequences for doing that. Even if their terms of service say it's OK for them to take it, they can't negate the fact that it's your property and they could have to pay if taken to court.

    Often, Facebook's tracking practices are more intrusive than those used by Google. Yet, only Google is blamed for privacy violations. No one says anything bad about Facebook's intrusive privacy practices.

    People always copy others on social media sites and Facebook is one of them, so it is possible that almost everything you do on Facebook can be used by others on their walls.

    When you say posts that clearly means you have placed it on the website. It’s just like making a post on a forum. With that, you cannot say that it is still yours because you had posted it on that site. That is the same with other social media network. Whatever you put in there cannot be exclusively yours anymore because it is on the website that is owned by Facebook. If you are worried that Facebook may use your post then think again. Even your friends can use it because they can see your post and can copy it.
