    MajesticSEO is used to help you look at the quality of your sites back links (or other sites). They use their own metric system to determine the value in those links that are built.

    They do this by domain, subdomain, and URL levels.

    Now they don't see EVERY link, and they are similar to what Aherfs dot com provides as well. As with any research, it's best to get as much data from as many sources as possible.

    I've used Majestic to scout my competitors, see what Google likes at the #1-3 positions, look at their anchor text ratios, back links, etc.. From there I go out and replicate the results on my own sites.

    I've also used Majestic to help me when I need to get as much information for client sites who might have been hit by a Google penalty, whether manual or automatic, such as the Oct 4th Penguin update.

    So yes, it's a good tool and hope this helps.
