    I agree that SEO is hard work and there is no easy way like doing just one thing. SEO work is a mix of SEO methods and let me elaborate a bit for the benefit of this discussion. The first SEO method is the uploading of fresh and unique contents. Tagging the content with keywords is also an SEO method. When you promote your site in the internet then that is called link building and it is another SEO method.

    You should have known when you had created your website that it must have contents. The content can be news or snippets about your website. But those contents needed updates because when there is no new content, the search engines may treat your website as stagnant and that is murder to SEO of your website which means your website will not be included in the search list anymore.
