    Yes, ssl certificate is great, but don't make the site faster.
    And it's good for the security, (man in the middle).

    I just did a quick google search and discovered that having an SSL certificate actually helps in ranking. SSL is related to SEO. The information I read reads "Google recently announced that having an SSL Certificate is the easiest thing site owners can do to boost SEO ranking."
