Do you still use forum profiles for backlinking?

Do forum profiles provide a good source of backlinks? Or, do they get deleted easily?

hello,
forum sites are very helpful in building links but try them only if you are continuously logging in and posting means if you are active then only it will help you otherwise you will be banned and cannot post

Nope. Since penguin and panda, these links are just junk IMO

Is that for all forums, even ones that are really big with lots of traffic? And, does that apply to in post links versus signature links?
