Have you ever sponsored a local event?

Have you ever sponsored a local event in exchange for free advertising? Sometimes, you can contribute sports uniforms to a local sports team, imprinted with your logo/ad. Have you tried this idea? What were the results?

When my older brother was on a baseball team, their jerseys were sponsored by a local business. The kids on the team didn't seem to notice or even mind. They were just having fun playing the game. It's good advertising for the business and free outfits for the kids they might not have otherwise.

Yes this can work really well, especially if the media is around taking photo's or out with their camera's

How can it be a free advertising ? I mean when you sponsor a event, you do it for advertisement

In a way, this is not free for the person who is sponsoring an event as the money for uniforms or event activities comes out of their pocket. But if it's a local business and tied in very well with a related event, then it could produce good income by attracting many new customers.
