How Do I Correctly Use The Affiliate Feed & Wehere Do I Put It?

So up until now i have only used my normal affiliate link(s) to get new members to sign up under me, i havent payed any attention to the Affiliate Feed URL. Can i get some information on the following about it...

In what way is it different from just using my normal affiliate url?
Where is best to advertise my feed affiliate url? (same as normal one?)
Why is there a feed affiliate url?

The affiliate feed is if you have a website. For example, if you have a Wordpress blog you could add the feed as a widget on the side with either your services or everyone's. when new services are released, it auto updates on your site.

Being rss, you could fetch the data and manipulate it in many ways.

If someone clicks on the feed and subscribes to it.. Do they get updated on every new gig created on SEOClerks?
Also, does every update that person recievs to their email or whereever, have they All got my affiliate id attached forever?
