What languages do you know?

What languages do you know or are able to do translation in? And, why did you start learning additional languages?

English is our second language so I am comfortable in translating Filipino and English languages. In my college studies, we had 4 semesters of Spanish subject but I cannot say that I am good in Spanish. It's difficult to translate in Spanish language because I didn't have the opportunity to practice in spoken Spanish although I can understand somehow. A decade ago, I had studied Nihonggo because a friend was working in a Japanese company. It is easier to learn Japanese that's why I was quite comfortable in conversational Japanese when I went to Osaka, Japan last March.

English is the basic language that I speak and understand for now, but I'm making plans to start learning about either German or Spanish for both are the languages that I have the passion to study. Also, I can be able to translate with those languages when the time comes.
