Picking a Topic

Even freelancers sometimes have trouble finding a topic of interest to write about. However, there are many things that you can do to ensure that you always have something to write about. Here are some tips that you can use to find something you want to write about.

Keep a notebook with you at all times. Jot down ideas that you have, or topics that you could easily write articles about.
Have you traveled anywhere lately? Travel is something that is easily wrote about if you have much experience with traveling. You could write about places to stay, points of interest to see, what not to see, what to splurge on, the best method of travel to get there, the best means of seeing a city, such as by bus or taxi or foot.
Maybe you love food? You would review area restaurants in your area, or anyplace that you have eaten. Or you could find new recipes and test them out yourself, adding what you would add or take away from the original recipe to make it better.
You could always write DIY articles. These are very popular and can include many different topics. If you are into health and beauty, you might pick a do it yourself foot scrub or honey face mask. Maybe you like pets, so you can teach someone how to make their own kitty litter. Or you could even do the DIY home renovations or projects.

Always find something that you enjoy writing about. If you are not really into the subject, then your article will show for it and it may not be as high of quality as it should be. If you dread writing the article, chances are you may put it off until the last moment before you start work on it.

I am a traveler and I have been taking notes of my travels regarding the places, food, people and culture, and any other things that are interesting. But I have no plans of having a travel blog because, to be honest, my passion is pets particularly dogs. I don’t think I will enjoy writing about traveling although I am not saying that I am not comfortable with travel blogs. Perhaps I can be a guest blogger for a travel blog and get paid for my guest blogs.
