    PR stands for Page Rank. Which is credited for your web page by Search Engine Giants like Google Bing AOL.

    You are right that the page rank is used by Google but not by other search engines. From what I know the Page Rank is exclusive to Google only and lately Google had issued a declaration that the Page Rank will not be functioning anymore since Google crawlers will not recognize it anymore. The Page Rank was for the benefit of the crawlers so it will instantly know if the site is good for evaluation for inclusion to the search list or not.

    PR means Page Rank. It's otherwise called Google Rank. If your site is visited by more people, then your site increase PR.

    I wish! Sadly that's not what increases your PR. PR is a measure of how many links are pointing to your site. It has nothing to do with how much traffic your site gets. You could get 100,000,000 visitors a day but it wouldn't change your sites PR one bit. What would of course is if you had 100,000,000 PR10 backlinks pointing to your site but to get that many links (that are worth having) would be an insanely impossible task but that would send a lot of PageRank juice to your site. That's why you want to get links on the highest PR sites only. But it's still healthy to have low PR site backlinks as well provided they are quality sites or related to your site also. However, Google have disabled showing what the PR of a site is now anyway so you cannot know what it is. While they do still use PageRank as a ranking factor, it's not the be all and end all to getting good ranking positions today.
