How to insert images on Signature

I am trying to insert images on my signature and it ask for the image url to insert.I have placed my image on my desktop so which url it is asking for ? Do I need to upload image on server if yes then how do I upload ?

You can link to an url image for your signature line. There is no option to upload that image to the signature file. You can simply host it anywhere online. Please keep banner to a reasonable size.

I am not very attracted to banners in signature lines. If someone has a banner, then I am not so likely to click on it as it's annoying.
