    Are book summaries a good niche for a website?

    I'd like to provide a website that specializes in book summaries or abstracts. This site would feature a full summary of plot, storyline, characters along with analysis. I want to monetize the site with Adsense. Do you know if it would be legal to analyze and summarize books in this way for my site, also what do you think about the likely success of this site?

    Is this a niche you are passionate about? If so, then you should pursue it. I'm not sure about the legal technicalities. Though I don't guess it would be illegal.

    Obviously, the summaries will be written in your own words and contain your own opinion, so it should be considered acceptable from a legal and Adsense point of view. As for whether or not it will be successful, that will depend on your site content and marketing efforts.

    There are already many book summary sites in various niches. Some of these sites focus on scholarly and college texts, providing a cliff notes type version online, while others are simply summarized or condensed editions of books. Others are no more than just book report type pages. The key to making your own book summary website stand out is to pick a niche of books that you love reading and talking about. Your enthusiasm and passion for the niche will help drive your site's success.

    You could create your book summary site from Wordpress so your readers will have the chance to comment on the book and say what they think about the story line. With all the new daily content, your site is likely to rank much better. Another option would be to let anyone contribute summaries or reviews for the site. This is usually possible with Wordpress.

    summaries is good but make sure that you dont just copy directly. make sure that you form your own words and opinion. with this , it will be very legal, original and authentic.

    I know a few that do it. with or without a site. Do what you are talking about. Yes, it can be lucrative. I would suggest start off with maybe twitter, and open an account using your "book review name" instead of your own, or other social sites also. Become an affiliate with amazon, and use kindle books, so you have unlimited books. Write a review on the book, give recommendations. Now, if you are making a website, say wordpress, and you do this, write the article etc, there are plugins also for not only adsense but other affiliates, plug ins mostly free for this service. So say you wrote an article about How bookie the worm road a bus, well, the plug ins, will pop up other related books, so maybe if your viewers don't like the one you wrote, about, or they loved it and may want more.. related books will pop up in the article. There are free plugins for this. So create your site, looking like books.. a library, little fancy, get your plugins, and you are set to go.

    I think book summary and book review are good niches for a website. If you have a website where you publish book summary and book reviews, you can also put books on sale. You can sell your own books or from other authors. You can also promote the books that you have reviews. A good way to make money from such website is to review high selling books and promoting those books.

    I really don’t know if schools still require the so called book report. In my days as a student, in high school and college, we were asked to make a book report in the English subject. We will choose a book to read and then write a summary. Can you imagine the time that was spent on reading a book in its entirety? Now, if you have a website which contains books summaries, that will be a big help to students in their book report.
