    SimpleSite for blogging

    What do you think about SimpleSite for blogging or websites? I have my own Wordpress based blog now, but thought maybe this type of site would be good for a beginner. Just thought this might be a useful resource for someone starting out as they say it's free to start your own blog.

    I'm leary of trying hosted blog sites as the content on the sites belongs to someone else, not me. I would rather pay for hosting and have my own blog securely under my own control rather than allowing another company to control whether or not my content stays up.

    I have never even heard of this site til now. I do not know anyone that uses it either.

    The name sounds new to me, but I would not be opposed to using it. Though I am more comfortable with Wordpress and Blogger. Though Wordpress is better as you own the blog versus blogger where Google owns it.

    Simple site is a free blogging platform just like wordpress or blogger. By creating an acount you will have your own website. However, if you are using a free site, your account will be something like youraccount.simplesite.com
    By paying monthly fees, you can use your own domain and have a site. By paying subscription fee, you will get a website yourwebsite.com (there will be no subdomain).
    The drawback of using a platform such as simple site is when the program shuts down, your site will be gone.

    A free blogging platform is great especially for beginners. However, Blogger is also a free blogging platform and you can easily get inside Adsense when you apply for the monetization of your blog. I have no feedback about SimpleSite yet but if that is a good platform then I guess it will have many users in a short period of time. But for now my take is still Blogger.
