Is it hard being a moderator on a forum?

I would like to know more about the job of being a moderator on a forum. Please tell me about the moderator's job and whether or not this is a hard job.

I had never been a moderator before this is my first experience and for me I am loving it . I dont know about other forums but here at Seoclerks all staff members are like family we work together as a single unit. All work very hard and very honestly to keep this forum in a peaceful place so every member enjoy staying here and sharing information and discussing on interesting and informative topics

Its not hard at all I love working here and after all Its our forum so we are working best of our strengths to keep this clean and well maintained.
We have responsibilities to check every post and every member profile and clean all spam links , profiles , useless posts ,useless and resolved threads and help new members using forum if they are having trouble or making any mistakes we help them

We love working here and we are trying day by day to make this more and more better for every member

At SEOClerks forum, we have the best staff!

Fara khan is such an amazing moderator! I am just so proud to be working with her and she exemplifies team spirit.

For awhile, we were very understaffed on moderators and having her with us now is helping so much.

In the short time she has been here, she has helped me get many of the subforums and profile pages cleaned up of spam. I could not be happier with our forum.

I've also appreciated the opportunity to work with @NaturalWriter as she has such keen insights and I always enjoy reading her lengthy posts. She's a very talented writer.

As for your question as to whether it's a hard job to be a moderator. That will depend on which site you are working on and your team members.

Every site that I have worked on as a moderator has been so much fun. And, I've been moderating forums for years, as well as owning my own forum and being an admin.

I hate spam! I just can't stand it. So it's fun to have that spam deleting power. It makes me feel like a super hero!

Now I know how hard the job of a moderator is based on actual experience. I have been invited 3 times already to be a moderator. One invitation even mentioned a token of money. And although I have no experience yet in moderating a forum, I know that a moderator has to spend a substantial amount of time everyday. I couldn't promise my availability so I had to decline.

Although I had never been a moderator, I had met a few moderators at Wikinut who were very helpful and they had explained to me the toughness of being one. Do you know that these moderators are not constantly online because they have their own real jobs offline? Furthermore they have their own sites to handle before they could find time to moderate comments at the forums. Reading the comments with grammar and spelling mistakes were the toughest nut to crack for moderators. They had to view tens or hundreds of posts, comments before hitting the publish button. So, English language with good written grammar, spelling error free and looking for spams are those things that a moderator does.
