    What's the biggest waste of money on your forum?

    What would be the biggest expense you've paid so far as a forum owner that would be considered a waste? For instance, did you try out some software that didn't work out? Or, maybe you invested into an ad campaign that didn't get results you wanted.

    Assuming you have properly monetized your forum such as with paid advertising space and are earning money, then nothing is a waste of money when it comes to forum management.

    It would be very agrivating to spend a lot of money and not get the results that you want. I know that much of the work is trial and error but hard earned money is hard earned money!

    We used Facebook ads a few times and it didn't really produce any good results. Now maybe it was more related to the actual ads or targeting than the Facebook ad medium. Since then, we are focusing more on socially driven traffic rather than traffic from paid ads.

    Most forums don't earn money anyway, so from one point of view, you might say anything spent on a forum is a waste of money as you'll never get it back.
