The Discourage Feature of Xenforo

Xenforo has a very interesting feature called Discouraged which can be enacted on individual members. The feature causes delays and discourages them from posting with other annoyances.

The hope is that they get discouraged and go troll another site.
You can find this feature on the user profile in the admin panel.

Sounds like another way for staff to be annoying to forum members.

But, if the person is truly being a troll, then maybe they deserve it.

I would probably just outright ban the person who was spamming or trolling, rather than taking time to 'discourage' them with the discouragement feature. I don't want a forum troll to mistake my intentions and know how displeased I am with their behavior.
