    How long did you wait before you put up ads on your forum?

    My forum was about three months old before I put up any kind of advertising, mostly because I wanted to build content first. And, even now, ads are only viewable to guests. If we had 1000 members logging in daily, I'm sure I would make ads viewable to all, except for premium members. That would probably make the forum more profitable. How long did you wait before you put up ads on your forum?

    There's really no need for big banner ads. You can earn just as well with link units if they are placed close enough to your content. For that reason, I would just put up the ads at the start, rather than waiting.

    I'm waiting awhile to put ads on my Tumblr blog. I don't want to scare people off with big banners and tacky link ads. The money is not the first priority for my blog now anyway. I just want readers and then monetizing matters can be taken care of later.

    I don't have a forum, however, when created my blog, I published my contents (I already had pre written contents) and put ads on day one. I already had been part of many trusted ad networks (I joined these ad networks through third party site). Yes, I did not earn from day one, but by having ads from day, I was already monetizing my blogs.
