    I get very annoyed when I go to some of these sites that use news bots as the only new posts listed on the 'Whats new' tab are the ones made by the news bot.

    Newsbots are more common for Xenforo sites and can be very useful, assuming you are actually getting new posts on other parts of your forum from your members.

    I get very annoyed when I go to some of these sites that use news bots as the only new posts listed on the 'Whats new' tab are the ones made by the news bot.

    And, sometimes it's hard to tell what posts are made by the news bot as they are also under the admin's name, which makes it look as if the admin is making the posts, when it's really just a bot doing all the work.

    I don't mind quoting another site but would have a problem with a bot that copies or scrapes entire page content and republishes on my forum as that will lead to duplicate content or copyright troubles.

    Just watch out for duplicate content issues from Google, especially when using a newsbot as some of these plug ins will scrape entire articles. Only use a portion of the article and link to the original page as your source.
