    What type of jobs do your mods do?

    Do you only expect spam moderation on posts from moderators or do you have other duties they are supposed to do?

    One of the biggest things I ask of my mod team is to moderate posts that contain anchor link text within the post. I don't mind a signature line so much, but those spammy backlinks have to go.

    A forum mod should be posting new discussions daily or very often to add to the content of the site, not just responding to posts. The new discussions will also stimulate forum activity as inactive forum members return to comment on what's new.

    Typically mods will do spam control, such as deleting spam threads and warning members who are posting spam links. Or, else they might be responsible for creating new content such as forum posts.

    Talking with forum members is a big job for mods and something they should be doing every day. If your mods are not active talking with the community, it is likely to die.

    I have 2 moderators in my anime site and their jobs include approving members and banning members. They also approve posts and delete spam. They can also do postings and comments and answer questions. I really don't pay them but I do give them a weekly incentive.
