    Restricting forum sign ups from specific countries

    Do you have it set up so that your forum won't accept sign ups from members whose IP is from a specific country such as Russia or China or other areas of the world?

    Or, is there a specific country that you have banned or restricted from signing up to your forum?

    Some forum owners have gone to extreme measures to forbid sign ups from various countries. But if your forum is international that's not a real option as it would also restrict real forum members from participating.

    In the years when my husband was managing the forum of their office website, he banned some countries that are notorious for spamming and scamming as well. I remember one country – Nigeria. Most of those banned were African countries. And it is only practical to ban those countries because the forum was in our native language so how can a Nigerian understand the contents of the forum? It is silly of them to even take the effort of registering
