    How much money do you have invested into your forum? For instance, maybe you invested into a year of hosting or domain name. Do you earn enough advertising revenue to make up for the investment?

    About two years worth of hosting, plus time. I never paid for forum software. If I could see the potential in a good niche, I would invest in Xenforo as I've used that software before as an admin.

    I have seen the preparation and launching of the marketing program of a new forum that was handled by my husband. You don’t need big money to rent a domain and pay for the hosting and design if you cannot design it yourself. What’s more important is the time and effort that you need to put into your forum. You have to be logged in all your waking hours and in moderating the boards, you need to read the new posts. I hope that forum owners here are earning so much but I know they are not.
