    What would you consider the most important element or part of a forum? What one thing can't a forum live without?

    A good administration. I feel that this is essential and if a forum does not have a good one, it can really suffer.

    A forum cannot live without numerous daily posts. If you let your forum go inactive and don't update it often, then your current forum members will quit. And, you are not likely to get many new members.

    You need members who are emotionally invested in the well being of your forum. Those people will keep coming back to update discussions and will continue to help the forum thrive.

    Yes the users are what will make the forum or break it. If you do not have users then you really have nothing.

    To me, the lifeblood of a forum is the "core members" who regularly post come hell or high water, so to speak. Take away the coee members and you may lose traction with most members who would lose interest. When there is no new post, an ordinary member tends to exit. Take note that creating threads is not the wont of an ordinary member that's why a forum needs the core members for this.

    The life wire of any forum is the users without users the forum is death, forums are not like blogs that the blog needs just a post by the blog owner, a forum needs posters and users to survive without this, it as dead and quiet as a desert.
