Write the reason you're deleting this FAQ

Guest area in your forum

Guest area can be a good feature for any forum IMO.

As it can give them a chance to have the feel and idea of your forum, and where the potential member can clear their doubts or ask for any information before registering. And it can also be helpful for interaction in case of problem arising for registration.

Only drawback I see, many guest use it for spamming.

What's your idea on that?

Never used one TBH. I did allow guests to respond once on a forum I ran and it got spammed to death, so I disabled it.

I have never used one either. I guess I could see where maybe it might be helpful but I agree that you may then get lots of spam on it.

Do you mean with the guest is someone who is not a registered member that can post on the guest board? That’s a good idea at the outset but on second thought, that may be hazardous in the long run. We know that spammers and trolls are around us and it will not take long before they take advantage of that freedom to post. In one forum that I go to where the admin was negligent, there were spam posts every now and then. But the spammer is a registered member. What more if no registration is required?
