    How can I set up wireless internet on my computer

    I'm from the old school of computing and have only used Ethernet wired internet so far. However, I want to go outside to work sometimes or move from room to room with my laptop without having to plug up to an Ethernet cord. Tell me how to set up my laptop or computer for wireless internet so that I can work on a secure connection.

    Well don't you have a wireless router? Most ISP's provide you with one these days. Or most routers are wireless or have wireless connectivity of some kind. If so, and your laptop has Wi-Fi then you can just connect straight to your router using Wi-Fi. However, if your laptop doesn't have Wi-Fi on it you can pick up a simple Wi-Fi dongle. You can get them for like $10 on eBay or Amazon or some where. Then just plug that into your laptop and connect to your wireless router using the supplied software. Of course, that depends if your router is also wireless. If it's not then you will need to get a wireless router. But as said, most ISP's (Internet Service Providers) provide you with a wireless router these days and they have done for about the past 5 years or so. Who is your ISP if you don't mind me asking? Depending on who it is, we can find out if they have and provide a wireless router. I'm surprised you don't have one already! Considering most ISP's usually send these out to you when they have a new one and would have told you about it somewhere in the past 5+ years. Unless you're not the one paying for your Internet and you don't ever get to see anything like that. In which case, I think it would be time to speak to whoever it is that pays for the Internet connection you have in your household and tell them its high time they upgraded to a wireless router! Just remember to get the latest wireless router from your ISP and if you buy your own one, make sure it's the latest one that has the latest encryption like WPA1/WPA2 or WEP or WPA encryption at the least as that is the latest encryption protocol and will be the most secure.     Hi sanfora it is very possible to connect internet with WI-FI router. It is possible to ways. If you have interent connection with broad band with high speed internet, you can connect with seveal computers at a time with one wifi router. You have to set up WI-FI router in most convenient places where singnal most powerful to catch up from each room. And set Wi-Fi with password and without password to connect each time. And another way you can use Wi-Fi connection by your Laptop existing Wi-FI device without purchasing extra device. You can convert your laptop Wi-FI device as router by using some free Wi-Fi hotspot software. For example: Connectify Hotspot, MyPublicWiFi, mHotspot, Thinix WiFi Hotspot, WiFi HotSpot Creator etc.

    We bought a wireless router that comes with an installer. You connect the router to the modem and the other end to your desktop, if you have one. But if you don’t have a computer then just be sure that the router is connected to the modem. Run the install program and set up the desired name of your wireless network and the password as well. Use your mobile to connect by entering the name of the network and the password. That’s it.

    Are you talking about wifi? Ah just ask a service provider and pay the monthly fees. They'll set you up with a router.
