So what you need to do is a process of elimination. And look at all the things you're putting "into" your life and mind. Are you listening to any certain kind of music and the lyrics are leaving an impression on you? Or are you watching a lot of movies of some kind or watching too many videos of some kind about horrible, sad and depressing things like rock music, horror movies and other negative stuff? Guilt, regret, worry, shame and depression can have a real physical effect on your body. That's why they say to forgive and forget because when you don't you carry that around with you in your life and it can manifest itself physically and mentally on you. So if there's anything like that drop it, forgive and forget. Make your peace and move on. Otherwise you're only drinking your own poison.
But if it's not any of that, and I don't mean to say this to make you worry and don't get me wrong when I say it but it could also be a chemical imbalance in your brain. It doesn't mean you're crazy! Many peoples minds don't work like they should and they still function as normal people. But in which case, if you think that could be what it is, you could seek the professional help of a psychiatrist or prescribing doctor who can prescribe ways and medicines in which to help you. Just go speak to your doctor and tell them how you feel that you can't explain the reasons for. They will know the best thing to do and ths could be referring you to a psychiatrist or even a group where you can talk about your feelings with other people which has proven to be effective for some people in that past. Or they could decide to put you on some kind of anti-depressant SSRI SNRI drug of some kind of like Zoloft or Prozac. These can help some people in some ways but can also come with some side-effect and end up addictive and hard to stop taking too. However, I don't personally believe that there is some magic pill that can solve your real life causes for depression. Did you ever see that film with Robbie Williams in where he tried to cure all his ward patients with nothing but laughter? They say that laughter is the best medicine and it could simply be the people aren't laughing enough these days what with all the pending doom and gloom that's peddled to the sheeple of the world today and leaving them feeling down and depressed!
Most of the time, just talking about these things can help most people. But sometimes people are just depressed for reasons they can't explain. A lot of the time these people will get some idea in their head and believe it. So it could be something like that too. I mean, if you're not thinking enough happy thoughts, and you're thinking too much about bad stuff whatever, that can have an effect on you. Always try to recognize negative thoughts for happy positive thoughts and try to think more happy thoughts and be happy, just smile and smile it off!
And also, are you doing anything else for other people for no other reason than just the goodness of your heart? Sometimes helping other people can really help you to feel better too. In fact, this is well known now and most help groups or doctors will recommend you do something else to help other people as this can end up making you feel better about yourself. This could be from just volunteering at your local charity shop or homeless shelter or helping people with problems on forums or in chat rooms with anything. Sure you're not going to get paid for it, but you are going to come away with a feeling of help and that warm fuzzy feeling you get from helping someone else.

What is it and what are the things that cause it? Some things can naturally get us down, hearing bad news, or receiving some bad news of some kind. Just watching the news is enough to bring anyone down usually! But some things bring us up and make us feel happy. Whether it's being excited about an up and coming event, some good news, going out to meet your friends, or winning the lottery! So some things naturally pick up us and some things naturally bring us down. That's just human nature. So if you're feeling down all the time, it could be because of something that's going on in your life, or the way you're feeling about something in someone elses life even. Or perhaps there's something subconsciously going on that you aren't aware about. Some suppressed memory from your past or something. So what you need to do is a process of elimination. And look at all the things you're putting "into" your life and mind. Are you listening to any certain kind of music and the lyrics are leaving an impression on you? Or are you watching a lot of movies of some kind or watching too many videos of some kind about horrible, sad and depressing things like rock music, horror movies and other negative stuff?
