Has anyone ranked in ask.com?

Is it possible to rank in ask.com? What techniques would you use for search engine optimization when targeting ask.com versus Google or Yahoo?

I remember when Ask Jeeves was around when it first came out in about 96', it was called AskJeeves.com back then and was more of a question-answering based search engine but was picking up pace as a global search engine. Then in around 2010 they changed again due to Google completely owning it and has returned back to a question-answering based search engine. Ask released a browser toolbar but got a lot of stick for it because it behaved like malware and was often bundled in with legitimate programs like Java and wasn't easy to remove once installed. That's about how I remember it anyway but you can find out more about them on wikipedia.org/wiki/Ask.com

As for ranking in ask.com I think they predominately pull their info from Google now anyway. In that, they compile results using several other search engines then mirror and reflect what those search engines show as a way to know which sites to show in their SERPs on ask.com. Apparently they only focus on one thing now and that's married woman according to the resource here on the dummies.com website.

Do a lot of people use ask.com for searching? I'm just curious if it is even worth the effort of ranking on the site.

Yes, it is possible and probably easier to rank on Ask.com. This is because they are less popular so you can probably do well on it easier if you focus on ranking on it. However, linking back to Razzy’s question, ask.com only consists of 0.25% of the market share so you probably won’t get much traffic from them. I personally haven’t done any SEO for ask.com but it seems like my forum is on the first page for the name of my forum. I think backlink building will work on Ask.com. I think the methods used for Google and Yahoo are similar to Ask.com

Truly, it is conceivable and most likely less demanding to rank on Ask.com. This is on the grounds that they are less mainstream so you can likely do well on it simpler on the off chance that you concentrate on positioning on it. Notwithstanding, most likely won't get much movement from them. I for one haven't done any SEO for ask.com however it appears like my discussion is on the main page for the name of my gathering. I think backlink building will take a shot at Ask.com. I think the techniques utilized for Google and Yahoo are like Ask.com

My take on SEO methods is that they work for all the search engines which means that you can get different rankings because the number of users of the search engines are not the same. Take for example Google and Ask, which are poles apart in terms of users. You can be on page 3 in the search list of Google but on page 1 in the search list of Ask. I believe that your site will rank better in Ask than in Google.
